Dr. Leo C. Brown Jr. is a man full of the Holy Ghost. He cares for people and does all he can to improve the quality of life for those who ask him for help. He was born and educated in Washington D.C. where he obtained a B.A. in Public Administration. Our Pastor is also a family man. He was married to his lovely wife, Dr.Patricia J. Brown. He is the father of and grandfather. Bishop loves to go fishing and as we have learned, he is also a great fisher of men.
He came to Washington State in 1961 while serving in the military. He is the founder and Senior Pastor of the True Vine Community Church of God in Christ, which he founded under the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Known for his commitment to Christ, he currently serves the church and the community in many ways.
Notable Accomplishments Include: 1968 - Founded the McNeil Island and Purdy Prison Ministries 1968 - Co-Founded “Operation Longthrust”, summer youth camp program 1972 – Founded the Progress House Association 1975 – Founded True Vine Church of God in Christ 1975 - Co-Founded the Barbara J. Brown Manor for senior citizens 1982 – February 6th proclaimed, “Dr. Leo C. Brown Jr. Day’ by the Governor of Washington State, Mayor of Tacoma, and the Pierce County Executive. 1990 – Appointed Superintendent of the Puget Sound District 1994 - Appointed Chairman the Board of Superintendents for the Washington State Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ. 2007 - Appointed the 2nd Administrative Assistant to the Bishop T.L. Westbrook, DD. 2014 - Voted by the Pastor's of The Washington State Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ to be considered as Jurisdictional Bishop
